The Beginning of Something New

After discussing things with another 6+1 point canoer, I decided to setup a blog for our Epic Canoe Trip.

This will aid in letting people know when and where and which way and that sort of thing and will be a stepping stone towards a system of deciding all the above mentioned items.

The Epic Canoe Trip has been been a tradition for almost a decade among the men from our rag tag group of friends. We would like to continue to see it be a fun way to relax and have a good time on the river.

We have devised a points system for use in voting matters that works as follows:
1 point for each year you have been on an Epic Canoe Trip
1 point if you own your own canoe
3 points for every 5 consecutive years

example: Someone who has been on 6 consecutive trips and own a canoe would have 6+1+3=10 points

When a vote needs to happen such as North or South trip, then each person can vote and the points will be tallied up. The vote with the most points will win. Simple.
